The hidden side of collections
From 17-12-2013 to 02-02-2014. Uffizi Gallery, Reali Poste. The exhibition, conceived and curated by Giovanna Giusti for Uffizi Gallery, presents the two artwork sides, that tell assemblies of noble works, identifications of authors, the first artist thoughts. The exhibited works come from Uffizi deposits and other museums of Polo. We can find paintings (David, Dürer, Brueghel, Palma Vecchio), sculptures, pottery, even a trunk to be transformed into an altar in trips to the Court, a 'royal' stipo embellished with Meissen porcelain, lyrics and dedications, old numbers shrink and sealing wax, from Roman to contemporary art. The exhibition leads to an ideal artist's studio at the time of work conception, when, inverting a canvas, it was decided to give the face to a new adventure.
