Re-opening of Rooms of Primitive
Exhibition of 14 more work of art
During the restoration works for the New Uffizi, back open to the public from Tuesday 21 April the rooms fo 'primitive' in the Uffizi Gallery. We talk about the rooms from n° 2 to n° 7, which closure, last summer, was necessary for the execution of delicate works to improve inside climate condition thanks to a new implant of air treatment, and for placing new lights using a system that integrates natural and artificial light. The re-opening of the Rooms of Primitive in the Uffizi Gallery coincide with the exhibition of 14 more works of art which choice was made by the Director Natali and by Daniela Parenti, director of the Middle Ages and Renaissance Department of Uffizi Gallery. In particular in room n° 2 find place a Madonna with Child of Lippo di Benivieni, the Majesty with Angels of Master della Santa Cecilia, a painted cross by Pacino di Bonaguida, while in the Room of Three Hundred there are 4 works of art added to the ones already there. Other 4 new paintings can be admire in Room Lorenzo Monaco (n° 5 and 6) and are a Crucifixion by Niccolò di Pietro Gerini, a Blessing Redeemer by Spinello Aretino, two compartments of the predella with histories of San Romualdo of Pisan School and a Ascension od Christ and Saints by NEri di Bicci. Complete the list of new works of art a paint by Nicola di Guardiagrele and three tables of Niccolò di Pietro, placed in Room n° 7 dedicate to Gentile da Fabriano and to International Gothic.
