Jacopo Ligozzi painter "Universalissimo"
27-05-2014 | 28-09-2014 As part of the initiatives planned for "Un Anno ad Arte 2014", the Palatine Gallery in collaboration with Uffizi Prints and Drawings Department dedicates a monographic exhibition to the painter Jacopo Ligozzi. This exhibition aims to illustrate in an organic way painter's activity, highlighting the various fields in which he had to act. For this reason it was decided to articulate the exposure into thematic sections, starting from the early days at the Medici court. Jacopo was also an history painter and distinguished himself as a delicate clothes and embroidery for textiles, semi-precious stones and artifacts designer. It also intends to give particular attention to the issue of 'moral allegories' and especially 'Vanitas'.
