Baccio Bandinelli, sculptor and teacher

The exhibition will present all artist works, sculpture and painting whose transfer is possible, drawings and prints of his own invention, bronzes, medals and a rare wax model from Montpellier. Besides the masterpieces such as Bacchus of Pitti Palace, the works present in Bargello, or marble reliefs of Duomo choir, will be exhibited Cosimo I portrait-busts and the magnificent Louvre young Mercury; in painting, Leda and the Swan (from Paris), the only painting by Bandinelli, never presented in an exhibition, and the famous Portrait of Baccio Bandinelli of Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. Will be also exposed reliefs (made by marble, plaster and bronze, from various foreign museums) that are related him with certainty, or that derive directly from his original, compared with graphics preparatory studies. Considering the wealth of material, the exhibition will be also extend in a part of Michelangelo's Hall, in addition to the two rooms usually engaged to Bargello temporary exhibitions.
